The University of Florida Awards ACAD-Plus to perform a Meridian Implementation for their Physical Plant Department. The document management implementation will use a phased approach; focusing initially on the most critical facility documents.

The University of Florida (UF) is a major, public, comprehensive, land-grant, research university. The state's oldest and most comprehensive university, UF is among the nation's most academically diverse public universities. UF has a long history of established programs in international education, research and service. It is one of only 17 public, land-grant universities that belongs to the Association of American Universities.

In 1853, the state-funded East Florida Seminary took over the Kingsbury Academy in Ocala. The seminary moved to Gainesville in the 1860s and later was consolidated with the state's land-grant Florida Agricultural College, then in Lake City. In 1905, by legislative action, the college became a university and was moved to Gainesville. Classes first met with 102 students on the present site on Sept. 26, 1906. UF officially opened its doors to women in 1947. With more than 50,000 students, UF is now one of the largest universities in the nation.

UF has a 2,000-acre campus and more than 900 buildings (including 170 with classrooms and laboratories). The northeast corner of campus is listed as a Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places. The UF residence halls have a total capacity of some 7,500 students and the five family housing villages house more than 1,000 married and graduate students.

ACAD-Plus Completes 10M sq.ft. field verification project for the University of South Carolina

ACAD-Plus has completed the field verification project for the University of South Carolina. ACAD-Plus performed field verification, and drafting services. The resulting CAD files were prepared for use with FAMIS. The space inventory for the University consists of approximately 183 buildings. ACAD-Plus provided a turn-key service to prepare CAD drawings for use within FAMIS Space Management, FAMIS AutoCAD Interface, and the FAMIS Graphical Report Server.

The University of South Carolina is home to more than 200 years of history and tradition, rising from a single building in 1805 on what would become the heart of the campus, the Horseshoe. The 11 buildings that now make up the Horseshoe frame a lush lawn that is an irresistible gathering place. The University is expanding west toward the Congaree River in support of its research initiatives in nanotechnology, health sciences, Future Fuels, the environment, and information and knowledge technologies. Three separate sites, each specializing in its own research area, will comprise this new innovation district, called Innovista. It will initially cover 500,000 square feet spread over about six city blocks but is projected to grow to five million square feet, mixing University and private research buildings, parking garages, and commercial and residential units around a public plaza called Foundation Square. By creating space for residences, retail, restaurants, and recreation that will complement the research, Innovista will be a place to live, learn, and work.

The web part will be brought to market first as a read-only web part.

Microsoft SharePoint as collaboration portal for BlueCielo Meridian Where collaboration is required with user groups outside the organization, such as with contractors who need to participate in a project, an Engineering Collaboration Portal in Micrososft SharePoint is now available. This solution is based on our Global Collaboration Framework module. Documents in BlueCielo Meridian can be indicated for collaboration and made visible within a specific Microsoft SharePoint site. In this site, new documents can be created and will be synchronized with BlueCielo Meridian . The Global Collaboration Framework module for Microft SharePoint ensures that the ownership of the document is managed correctly.
