Session Abstract: The entire document management responsibility for the University of Southern California’s Facilities Management Services used to fall into the hands of a small department with only a couple employees. This is probably the case with most facilities management departments, getting bundles of project close-out documents long after the project is completed. With the help of ACAD-Plus, a new and improved document management workflow has been developed that involves getting more people involved in the process such as project managers, equipment managers, and engineers. Not only is the quality of the data better, but the project managers can now use the document management tool in project management. The new workflow also acts as a checklist tool to help ensure that various responsibilities have been completed, from the Physical Plant to the CAD department. USC has improved their document management system, and in turn, their work flow through the use of Meridian and ACAD-Plus professional services group.
